5 Reasons why schools must resume in North West and southwest Cameroon, come September 2019.

“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”
Nelson Mandela

“An investment in knowledge pays the best interest.“
Benjamin Franklin

„Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today.“
Malcolm X……

we can go on and on citing the importance of Education. however, this Fundamental human right has been snatched off the hands of poor children in the North West and southwest regions of Cameroon due to a socio-political upheaval that began on October 2016 with a protest by teachers and lawyers in this part of the country. we are not here to describe the crises, but to evaluate the importance of Education that children in these two regions of the country, and why they have to go back to school and claim this fundamental right.

schools must Resume in North West and South West Regions for the following reasons

1) Who is impeding School resumption?

There are three categories of people who are strongly against back to school in these regions. the first category consists of a set of illiterates who are jealous of students and wants them to end up in the same illiteracy as them. come to think of It, ”How many Educated youths have really taken arms to fight?”. the second category consists of people who have succeeded with their own EDUCATION, traveled abroad with their families, and wants to block the way for others. the third category is made up of those who are strongly benefiting from the school boycott directly or indirectly. this set is made up of some greedy government officials and owners of some Non-Governmental Organizations. the question here is whey submit to the quest of people who do not wish you well?

2) What is lost Staying Off school

We started this post with a series of quotes, all emphasizing on the importance of Education. Staying off from school, we do not only miss what is taught in class but equally mold up that can only come from peers. We lost understanding of basic things at the required age. let’s consider a five years old child, who was interrupted from school in October 2016 when this crisis started about to enter primary one. The crisis is already in its third year. let’s assume it lasts again for two years. It implies the said Child will Start Learning ABC… at the age of ten. In such a case the probability that the child will finish primary school is not more than 3/5. So let’s save our land from 1990 type primary school bullies

3) Misunderstanding the crisis.

The anglophone crisis is a socio-political crisis with no direct relationship with Education. why stop school? the inertial problem was to get rid of the ”corrupt French system’‘ but it should be clearly understood that you can never use illiteracy to combat a corrupt person. secondly, while the Anglophone Children stay away from school in the name of ”Fighting for independence”, the Francophones are busy creating Anglo-Saxon schools in the French-speaking part of Cameroon and enrolling their children into it. So how then are anglophones wining staying away from school? Schools must resume in North West and southwest Cameroon, come September 2019.

4) End Juvenile Delinquency and its consequences

Juvenile delinquency, also known “juvenile offending“, is the act of participating in unlawful behavior as minors. Acts such as rubbery, rape, fornication, barbarism and even murder, are at their peak in the North West and South Western regions of Cameroon as a result of lack of discipline. parents alone sometimes have it difficult to discipline a child as much as teachers do in school. Most youths in these regions of schooling age have exchanged their pens for guns. thousands have died fighting for what they do not even know. it is high times we learn to understand the power of a pen over a gun. Remember.

The pen is mightier than the sword if you shoot that pen out of a gun” Stephen Colber

5) What future?

What future for a nation with uneducated leaders in the 21st century? as earlier stated, we will not love to see the 1990 type primary school type bullies in 2030. This is an advanced, modern and technological era whose goals can only be achieved through Education. let us meet up with our time. let us children to school save ourselves from being primitive at the time when other countries are thinking about visiting planets.

The list can be endless if we continue. based on the above analysis and the unanalyzed, We can conclude without gainsaying that the relevance of going back to school, is far more than any reasons we can advance for not resuming school.
