The national team of Senegal has been crowned best African team of the year 2022.
Competing with Cameroon and Egypt, Senegal was voted best national team of the year. A more than legitimate reward for the Teranga Lions who won the 2021 African Cup of Nations, notably beating the Pharaohs of Egypt in the final at the Olembé stadium in Yaoundé. The selection led by Aliou Cissé also qualified for the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
“I am a happy president. We had been dreaming of the CAN for a long time,” commented Me Augustin Singhor, president of the Senegalese football federation.
