Why is the Musonge commission silent on this issue?? Do they want the #NWSW to end up like Rwanda, Bosnia? Gasha laments over xenophobic threats to the North westerners living in the South West region from a south west chief
Cameroon’s anglophone social media has been boiling for days now after a Southwest Chief known as Ewume Eko alias moja moja, Went viral in a video which he threatened to chase out all north westerners living in the Southwest Region of the country. He accused the people of the Northwest regions for beading their chiefs. Promising death to the grass field people living in the Southwest region quoting how strong they are and how far they can go, He said..
.. We the Bakweris had fought the Germans, yet you people killed our chiefs, we will show you people that we too know how to behead…”
Cameroon’s female superstar Gasha did not find this funny as according to her, such outings can lead to xenophobia . taking to her facebook page, Gasha expressed disappointment in the bilingualism and multiculturalism commission that was created by president Paul Biya to Handle such issues
”It has recently come to my attention that a Chief in the Southwest is calling for a purge of natives of the Northwest from the Southwest. Last time I checked the preamble of our constitution states that we have the right to move freely and settled anywhere within the national territory. Has this provision of the constitution been repealed?? I wonder Why is the Musonge commission silent on this issue?? Do they want the #NWSW to end up like Rwanda, Bosnia?? I am fed up with the double standards of state officials who pretend to be striving for national unity, while at the same time staying silent amidst calls for genocide and ethnic cleansing.Let us raise our voices and say #NoToEthnicCleansing in the #NWSW and #NoToGenocide on our country.”
