OPEN LETTER TO HIS HOLINESS POPE FRANCIS.

Your Holiness,

RE: UNENDING CARNAGE OF CHRISTIANS IN NIGERIA.

Your Holiness, may I humbly bring to your notice, the threat and unending annihilation of Christians in Nigeria.

Your Holiness,I may not be the right person to write this to you, but it is necessary, I do so, incase you have not heard or seen the disaster that is currently consuming every Christian in Nigeria; especially in the Muslim dominated Northern Nigeria.

Your Holiness, I am writing you with tears in my eyes, based on the fact that you are not just a Pope for the Roman Catholics alone, but a spiritual father, “primus inter pares” of all Christians in the world.

Your Holiness, between 2015 and 2019, the Catholic church lost most of her priests and lay faithful to kidnappers, Herdsmen and bandits. Many were butchered and dumped without traces. Not only the Catholic Clergy and Laity, including Christians of other denominations.

Your Holiness, We have lost over 1,000 Christians in the past 1 year to Islamic militias known as Boko Haram. Many churches burnt down and families rendered homeless for no apparent reason.

Between 2015-2019,it is on record that 6,000 Nigerian Christians are in their graves now over incessant attacks.

Your Holiness, we have seen the positive effects of your visits and letters to war-ravaged countries. We have also seen the joy and relief many countries in the world, most especially Africa, enjoyed during your visits.

Your Holiness, Nigeria, as a nation is a country that loves God so much. A praying nation. Despite our denominational differences, we have a way of understanding each other.

Your Holiness, Nigeria, enjoyed the last Papal visits between 1982 and 1998 in the darkest period of our national history. Pope John Paul 2 visited calmed frayed and tension soaked nation under the civilian administration of President Shehu Shagari and Gen.Sani Abacha respectively.

Your Holiness, We are requesting for your fatherly intervention either through a visit, letters or taking our case to the United Nations. Our Nation and her leaders are helpless but refused to admit it.

You Holiness, Nigerian Christians are helpless. Women and children are helpless. We have lost countless soldiers to insurgency who left behind children who are fatherless and mothers who are widows.

Your Holiness, our religious leaders are helpless and confused either because of unholy romance with politicians or fear of men underworld.

Your Holiness,we suffered a terrible civil war which lasted from1967-1970, between Biafra and Nigeria.50 years after this war, the wounds are yet untreated thereby leading to restiveness and agitation for a separation.

Your Holiness, Nigeria is blessed with mineral and natural resources. We are richly blessed by God that what we have are enough to feed the common man, but our leaders and politicians selfish to have amassed wealth meant for the nation to themselves. It may shock you to know that, we are about to recover 320 million dollars loot stolen by a dead General 22 years ago.

Your Holiness, many of our leaders benefited from your investiture into Papal Knighthood but failed to inform you of the true nature of this country.

Your Holiness, Cardinal Arinze, Who served as the Prefect of the congregation for divine worship and discipline of sacraments in the Vatican and many Nigerian Cardinals, Archbishops and Bishops, knows what I am talking about here. Did they inform you? Are we not due to have a visit?mWhen will this silence end?

Your Holiness, I decided to make this letter public, so that you and the world and the next generation will know that I was never silent to this monstrous era that has befallen us. If I write you privately,it may be intercepted and thrown away and so I decided to use my platform which is my only weapon of truth to humbly bring this to your notice.

Your Holiness, Nigeria is on a keg of gunpowder and if this is not stopped or addressed,it will be an evil wind that blows no good. Both the living and the dead will be unsafe.

HELP US NOW!

May God bless you in service to him and humanity.
