CAF President Patrice Motsepe ”Cameroon organized the best AFCON in the history of CAF”
During the CAF General Assembly in Tanzania, President Patrice Motsepe welcomed the organization of AFCON 2021 in Cameroon.
In January and February 2022, Cameroon organized the 33rd edition of the African Cup of Nations. Won by Senegal, this AFCON2021 was the most successful edition at the organizational level according to the boss of African football. “In January and February this year, we organized the most successful TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (“CAN”) in the history of CAF,” said the sporting director.
“About 500 million people from 160 nations watched the CAN TotalEnergies Cameroon 2021 matches on TV. This is about 40 more nations than those who watched the TotalEnergies Egypt 2019 AFCON. CAF recorded 1.4 billion streaming impressions on its digital pages and 351.4 million online video views related to the CAN TotalEnergies Cameroon 2021“, remarked Mostepe.
Cameroon was congratulated for this successful organization. The Cameroonian government and the Cameroonian football federation spared no effort for the success of this continental event that the country of Roger Milla hosted for the second time in its history.
