Pregnant girls will no longer be dismissed from schools in Cameroon.

May 10, 2022

Minister Nalova Lyonga has ordered that henceforth, pregnant students should be allowed to carry on with their studies until the 26th week of pregnancy. The girl could return to school after a medical confirmation of a safe delivery.
This measure also applies to the father of the child if he is a student.

However, any teacher or school staff who impregnates a student will face disciplinary sanctions.
